Be Proud of Your English Heritage

Be proud of your English heritage, be proud of its history too.
Be proud of the military servicemen who fought and defended you.
Be proud to have a monarchy with all the traditions that it brings;
All the pomp and ceremony that stirs your heart to want to sing.

Admire the beautiful cathedrals that stand so dignified;
Feel the peace and serenity of the ages, as you quietly walk around inside.
Visit the country houses and museums where there's so much to do and see
And the old ruined castles with their ancient history.

Travel the scenic countryside, see cattle grazing in the fields of green.
See the farms, cottages, forests, flowing rivers and rippling streams.
Look in wonder at the wild and rugged moorland and the fascinating dales;
The interesting lakeland with its valleys and mountains and hills.

Take a trip along the coastline where you can gaze out to sea.
See boats sailing on the water or moored within the quay.
Walk along a sandy beach, feel the freshness of the air
Hear the merriment of children or music from a carousel fair.

Walk through the parks and gardens where you can rest among the trees and flowers
Or take up one of the many hobbies to enjoy in your leisure hours.
England's a wonderful country there is so much to see and do,
So be proud of your English heritage and make England proud of you.

Lovingly composed by Mary Rodham, aged 44 (plus a bit more)
