My Garden Home

My garden is my second home, I'm so happy when I'm there,
Spending time in the open, breathing the fresh air.
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, they are all a joy to me,
For in my garden all year round, changing scenes I see.

I marvel at the bulbs and plants, the way they give rebirth;
They know precisely when to push their heads up through the earth.
The flowers, trees and bushes, it's amazing how they know
The month to renew their shoots, to come alive and grow.

The different size and shape of blooms, the radiance of their bloom,
I'm in an artist's paradise in my garden sitting room.
The birds that fly from tree to tree the nesting for their young
The leaping and croaking of the frogs, the pond filled with their spawn.

The rain that falls moistening dry earth, helping plants to grow.
The garden in the winter, with the beauty of the snow.
In all the world where could I find, more perfect a place to be
Than in the freedom of my garden home, in peace and tranquility?

Lovingly composed by Mary Rodham, aged 44 (plus a bit more)
